Kutch

kutchKutch is synonymous with a rich culture and heritage, beautiful landscapes, scenic beauty and world famous-intricate embroidery done by traditional local artisans. This region especially Mundra, the Paris of Kutch, has become hot bed for economic activities with the inception of India’s first UMPP Project.

The Project has been the turning point in the industrial growth story of the country.

Mundra as a town is predominantly agricultural with a strong presence of traditional occupations of animal husbandry and fishing. Social development issues like poor health and education facilities, a lack of occupational and vocational opportunities, underdeveloped infrastructure and a small number of skilled manpower still haunts this area.In 2005, Government of India launched ‘Power for all by 2012’ initiative in order to empower and uplift the people in Mundra. Corporates like Tata Power CGPL have been instrumental in reforming communities in Mundra in the areas of employment, education, skills, infrastructure, women development, healthcare and cultural enhancement.

Samvad is a dialogue connecting all stakeholders & their voices reciting their own growth stories!
