CGPL celebrated World Environment Day with great enthusiasm with its stakeholders in line with this year’s theme “Seven Billion Dreams. One Planet. Consume with Care.” As part of the celebrations, a mass plantation activity was conducted at Tragadi Village and Tunda Village in participation with officials from Government, Gujarat Pollution Control Board, Gram Panchayat, Community and CGPL employees, to optimize their engagement and deepen their conscience to care for the planet we all live in.
CGPL, in association with Tragadi Gram Panchayat, had organised a Community based programme of mass tree plantation of 10,000 neem saplings at Tragadi Village. The programme was inaugurated by Deputy Collector, Mundra, Taluka Development Officer- Mundra, Regional Office, Gujarat Pollution Control Board and Sarpanch – Tragadi Village
CGPL team welcomed dignitarties, participants and briefed them about the importance of World Environment Day and the details of community plantation
All dignitaries were felicitated with a shawl and a sapling of ‘Tulsi’ plant, by Tragadi Gram Panchayat and senior officers of CGPL
The ceremony was voiced by the enlightening speech of Regional Officer, GPCB and Sarpanch- Tragadi Village
However, the colors to the World Environment Day celebration were added by song on Earth’s theme sung by young girls from Tragadi Primary School.
Post vote of thanks by CGPL, WED celebration was marked by neem sapling plantation by all dignitaries who were joined for plantation by participants that included CGPL employees as well as Tragadi villagers. At the end of the program, the community were also given saplings of tulsi plant
On the same day, Phase II of World Environment Day celebration had been mass tree plantation of 500 saplings at Tunda Village wherein CGPL volunteers enthusiastically participated
Team CGPL along with Gram panchayats of Tragadi and Tunda village has decided to take care of these saplings planted so as to ensure a future of Greener Kutch that we all so aspire.
